A new ploy to turn women into alcoholics? Maybe.
Hello Kitty seems to be slapped onto every other imaginable consumer product so it was seemingly only a matter of time before they branded alcohol. Because beer can be totes cute, right?!
Now available in China and Taiwan are six fruit-flavoured brews including peach, passionfruit, lemon-lime and banana flavour. Apparently, in China, for every 1 female alcoholic, there are approximately 33 male alcoholics so if gender equality in alcoholism is the goal here, I’d say they’re on the mark. Personally, the idea of fruit-flavoured beer makes me feel a little sick. But I’m sure if it came down to it, I wouldn’t be able to resist the cute kitty-branded can when handed to me.
